Chiropractic

Chiropractic is a health care profession that focuses on disorders of the musculoskeletal system and the nervous system, and the effects of these disorders on general health. Doctors of Chiropractic—often referred to as DCs, chiropractors or chiropractic physicians—practice a drug-free, hands-on approach to health care that includes patient examination, diagnosis and treatment. In addition to their expertise in spinal manipulation/adjustment, Doctors of Chiropractic have broad diagnostic skills and are also trained to recommend therapeutic and rehabilitative exercises, as well as to provide nutritional, dietary and lifestyle counseling.

What conditions do chiropractors treat?

At Loving Hands Chiropractic,  Dr. Jenn and Dr. Liz care for patients of all ages, with a variety of health conditions. Chiropractors are especially well known for their expertise in caring for patients with back pain, neck pain and headaches with their highly skilled manipulations, or chiropractic adjustments. They also care for patients with a wide range of injuries and disorders of the musculoskeletal system, involving the muscles, ligaments, discs, and joints. These painful conditions often involve or impact the nervous system, which can cause referred pain and dysfunction distant to the region of injury. The benefits of chiropractic care extend to general health issues, as well, since our body structure affects our overall function. Chiropractors also counsel patients on rehabilitative exercises, diet, nutrition, healthy habits, and occupational and lifestyle modification.

How is a chiropractic adjustment performed?

Both Dr, Jenn and Dr. Liz use a variety of methods to help our patients feel their best. Our adjustments are as varied as our patients and our treatment plans are going to be custom designed for you, to accommodate you where you are at in your process. Some adjustments are "traditional" chiropractic manipulations, some are lighter force with more of a "light pressure". For other of our patients, we may choose to use instrument-assisted adjusting, or a different technique entirely. For us, each of our patients is an individual and our care is meant for exactly that.

Sports Medicine

Functional taping using either K-Tape or RockTape involves using specialized tape that can help reduce inflammation and improve overall healing of injured tissue. We can use it to re-educate your musculature or assist with decreased swelling.                  https://kinesiotaping.com/about/what-is-the-kinesio-taping-method

Graston Technique (or IASTM) allows for breakdown and reorganization of tissue following trauma or injury. The tools are designed to best access different parts of the body. By using the tools to both distinguish restrictions and to address either scarring or fascial adhesions, we can better release the tissue and allow normalization of function and form.                                                       http://www.grastontechnique.com/home

Pediatric and Maternal  Care

Both Dr. Jenn and Dr. Liz treat the pregnant mom, throughout her pregnancy, and pediatric patient. Their special interests include tongue tie and its impact on both breastfeeding and oral cavity development and youth adolescents. Treatments may include myofascial release, craniosacral therapy, unwinding and traditional chiropractic manipulation with appropriate alterations for the population.

Dr. Jenn earned her Diplomate in Chiropractic Clinical Pediatrics in 2017. She has been working with breastfeeding infants and mothers since she herself became a mother in 2005.  Dr. Jenn also is trained in Webster Technique for assisting turning breech babies.

Rehab

Based upon your diagnosis and treatment plan Dr. Jenn and Dr. Liz will customize a rehabilitative exercise program. The exercises will be designed to address pain, inflammation, deficiencies in range of motion, and improve muscular function.
